Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about online medical certificates in Australia.
Yes. AHPRA-registered GPs can assess you via telehealth and issue a medical certificate when clinically appropriate. Your certificate is delivered by email and is accepted the same as one from an in-person visit.
Payment is taken when you submit your request, after you have answered all questions and signed in to your account. This covers the GP consultation. If the doctor declines your request, you receive a full refund automatically.
You are paying for a GP consultation, not per day on the certificate. Whether you need 1 or 5 days off, the doctor does the same clinical assessment. We charge one flat fee of $19.95. The doctor certifies the duration they consider medically appropriate.
You describe who you are caring for, their relationship to you, and their condition. The GP reviews whether your absence is warranted - the same clinical judgement as a telehealth consultation. Carer's leave costs the same as sick leave.
In most cases, yes. Certificates from registered Australian doctors are valid for sick leave and carer's leave under the Fair Work Act.
Everything is sent by email only - status updates, approval notifications, and your certificate PDF. No SMS.
If a certificate is not clinically appropriate, you receive a full refund. The doctor may recommend an in-person visit or further care.
Your account lets you pay securely at submission and access all past certificates in one place under My certificates.
